Minor Illness

Get fast help from a Pharmacist with various conditions such as minor cuts, sprains, aches, colds, headaches, rashes, cystitis. No appointment is necessary. Many Pharmacists have a confidential area and are open till late and at weekends.

Book an appointment with a clinician

To book an appointment please use our online triage system which the surgery will use to get back to you within 24 hours. This is open Monday – Wednesday and Friday from 08.00 until 15.00 and Thursday from 08.00 until 12.00 midday. Outside of these hours you can telephone Reception who will discuss your request with a Doctor and advise about appointment arrangements.

Need a Contraceptive/HRT

These are now performed remotely. Please send a request in for a review (Using the link above) and you will be sent a text message to respond to.

Please note you will need access to a blood pressure machine and weighing scales to complete this review

Hypertension review

Please note you will need access to a blood pressure machine to complete this review we are aware that some patients would rather use paper than a website to give us their blood pressure readings. You can download a paper form here.

Once your home blood pressure readings have been submitted you will be contacted by one of the clinical team.

Home Visits

Please phone the surgery before 10:30am if you would like a home visit. Please note home visits are reserved for the housebound and palliative patients. The majority of home visits are done by Sr Mel Robinson and our colleagues at South Stoke Central PCN.

Medication reviews

These should be booked with our GPs via patient access. Alternatively the above online triage form can be filled in and an appointment will be organised. Click the link below to be taken to the Patient Access page.

Cancelling an appointment

To cancel your appointment please telephone the surgery giving as much notice as possible, so we are able to use that slot for another patient. The practice loses many clinical hours due to patients not cancelling and not attending their appointment, these appointments could be used for another patient.

Please always cancel any appointment you cannot make. If you persistently do not attend your appointments and do not cancel your appointment in time, you will be asked to find an alternative GP and be removed off the Mayfield Surgery practice list.
