Scarlet fever is a contagious infection that mostly affects young children. It’s easily treated with antibiotics. Check if you have scarlet fever.

Group A streptococcal infections can cause strep throat, scarlet fever, or skin infections such as impetigo. Most cases are mild, but a small proportion of children can develop an invasive infection where the bacteria enter the bloodstream and can cause sepsis or deep seated infections
