An emergency surgery is run daily for any patient that feels that their problem is of an urgent nature and cannot wait for a booked appointment or their condition does not fit the criteria of the minor illness clinics. You would need to telephone the emergency number when your call will be triaged and you will be advised accordingly on how we will deal with your problem.

The practice operate minor illness clinics on a daily basis.  Patients can be seen for a variety of acute conditions that fit the criteria in the attached form below:

Minor Illness Clinic

Additionally, there are a  variety of pre-booked appointments with the GPs in the mornings and afternoons.  There are general nursing appointments that patients can pre-book into, but appointments for chronic diseases will be organised within the nursing team.

Please make use of the Pharmacy Ailment Service at your local chemist, who are also able to help with your minor ailments and prescribe medication.

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are computer generated. You will need to keep the computer slip safely listing your medication and tick the relevant boxes when requesting a further supply. You may return the slips and place them in the black box provided in surgery, or forward them to us by post.

We do not return prescriptions by post any more due to an unreliable postal service. There are also a number of local chemists who will deal with your prescription for you, so please ask at your nearest and preferred chemist for further details or ask our reception who will be pleased to advise. Except in specific circumstances, requests for repeat prescriptions will not be accepted over the telephone.

We are now using a new system called EPS2, which allows all of our patients to choose/nominate a pharmacy of their choice.  This will mean that your prescriptions can be electronically delivered to this nominated pharmacy for your collection.  Please discuss with the reception team your nominated pharmacy.

Your prescription will be processed within 48hrs – 72hrs, so please allow this length of time before collecting. We do aim to process your prescription within 48hrs or less. Please submit your repeat prescription in plenty of time, allowing for the processing procedure.

Remember – if you register for Patient Access, your repeat prescriptions can be submitted on-line.

You may notice that some of the brands/preparations on your prescription have changed.  We are complying with the Stoke Clinical Commissioning Group’s request for cost effective prescribing.
