This year’s programme is going to be challenging in ensuring the targeted patient population receive their vaccination. Our vaccines are being delivered in stages and by specific age groups.
We aim to send text messages informing you all as to when you can book into clinics; and over time we shall also be contacting patients directly for attendance. As we will be required to still provide social distancing, there will be a requirement to manage our clinics very carefully which will take longer to achieve the vaccination programme.
As you will remember from our past ‘Open Saturday Sessions’ – these have always been very successful; managed and co-ordinated with a sprinkle of fun chat by all 🙂
We still wish to hold sessions on Saturdays throughout October 2020 (possibly 4) and this will be communicated out to you all – but please share with friends and family that may miss the messages. Our sessions will require extra co-ordination to keep us all safe and hope you all will appreciate the upcoming difficulty in providing this service.
You will have seen in the media that ages 50 to 64 that are not at risk will be eligible to receive a flu vaccination this year – however, it is not anticipated that this section of patients will be invited until later in the year as we are required to vaccinate all our at risk and elderly patients as a priority – please do not ring to request your vaccination if you fall into this category as we will communicate when we are allowed to do this. Our telephone lines are going to be busier than ever and we ask you consider this aspect before making any calls.
